CHALLENGE

Relationships are the foundation of private equity – our client’s COO wanted their firm to have a systematic and scalable approach to “connect the dots” and source relationship intelligence relevant to target acquisitions. The client had relationship data in multiple files and systems – and a great deal of relationship knowledge it was not sharing internally. Its origination analysts spent hours and used multiple external sources to find contacts and context, yet these were not consistently shared with each other, since they were done in a one-off fashion.

SOLUTION

The firm used RelPro and RelPro data services. We aggregated the client’s various relationship data, eliminated overlap, and enriched them with added intelligence and context. This incorporated the relationship networks of our client’s “extended family” – their advisors, outside board members and senior executives of their portfolio companies. RESULTS

Our client’s business development and transacting teams are using RelPro and RelPro data services every day. RelPro is finding business owners, their contact details & valuable relationship insights to accelerate proprietary deal sourcing. RelPro data services revealed several thousand new CRM connections across our client’s relationship networks that are being leveraged for due diligence and business development introductions. Equally important, RelPro data services are providing an outsourced research service providing rich profiles and relationship intelligence for our client to differentiate themselves from other private equity investors by being better prepared when they meet with the management teams of prospective acquisitions.
